I recognize the unmet needs of individuals struggling with addiction, a population deserving of attentive and specialized care. My treatment approach revolves around empowering patients to attain their objectives and integrate as productive members of the community. Committed to fostering the growth of future healthcare professionals, I garnered the Excellence in Teaching Award from George Washington University in 2016-2017.
Having completed my residency in General Psychiatry at Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York, in 2007, I pursued a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at North Shore LIJ University Hospital Center in 2008. My tenure with the Veteran's Affairs Administration included serving as Chief of Psychiatry for the past four years.
Specializing in adult psychiatry, my practice extends to effectively addressing the needs of patients grappling with addiction. Additionally, I am a certified Suboxone provider. Committed to excellence in psychiatry, I aim to contribute significantly to holistic patient care and the advancement of mental health.

Addiction Psychiatry
Addiction psychiatry is a medical subspecialty within psychiatry that focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of people who have one or more disorders related to addiction. This may include disorders involving legal and illegal drugs, gambling, sex, food, and other impulse control disorders. Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are a class of mental disorders characterized by enduring maladaptive patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience, exhibited across many contexts and deviating from those accepted by the individual's culture.These patterns develop early, are inflexible, and are associated with significant distress or disability.
Depression
Also known as Major Depressive Affective Disorder; Unipolar Disorder; Unipolar Mood Disorder. Depression is a mental illness marked by feelings of profound sadness and general malaise. This lack of interest in activities and daily living interferes with the ability to function and live. Both physical and emotional symptoms can be brought on by depression. People who suffer from depression usually need some form of treatment through either talk therapy, medication, or a combination of the two. This mental illness is more common in females. If left untreated, the condition can manifest and continue to increase in severity.
